In a Portuguese-speaking country, be careful when giving compliments – esquisito means strange, not exquisite. And don’t worry if a friend tells you that she’s constipação – it means she’s feeling cold, not constipated.
Also, at work, if the boss wants to assistir your presentation, it means he will observe it, not assist you.
And if you haven’t heeded these warnings and end up trying to leave the room in a hurry, remember that puxe (pronounced “poosh”) means to pull, not to push.

Private Classes (in school or at home)
Private classes happen when you want!
It’s a program of individual classes, completely flexible to fit your needs. Choose the number of hours and the time of the classes.
If for some reason you prefer to have classes at home, it’s no problem! Just let us know and the school will provide a teacher to come to you!

|CIPLE A2*Certificado Inicial de Português Língua Estrangeira)||This exam tests the ability to interact in a number of limited daily situations. The candidate understands sentences and basic information relevant to personal needs and family activities. Can communicate about simple, routine tasks requiring a direct exchange of information on familiar or daily matters. Can describe in simple language his/her background, immediate environment, interests or activities.|
|DEPLE B1(Diploma Elementar de Português Língua Estrangeira)||To do this exam, the candidates must be able to interact in situations of daily, work and studies communication that need the use of predictable language. The candidate understands the main points of clear standard speech about familiar topics. Can deal with most situations likely to arise in school or after school hours. Produces simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest. Can describe experiences or events and can briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.|
|DIPLE B2(Diploma Intermédio de Português Língua Estrangeira)||This exam tests the ability of understanding the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions of specialization. Interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party. The candidate can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue.|
|DAPLE C1(Diploma Avançado de Português Língua Estrangeira)||People with this certificate can use the language in a flexible and creative manner in predictable and unpredictable situations. The candidate can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognize implicit meaning. Can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions. Can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic, and professional purposes.|
|DUPLE C2(Diploma Universitário de Português Língua Estrangeira)||This certificate proves that the speakers can use the language withe self confidence. The candidate can understand with ease virtually everything heard or read. Can summarize information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments and accounts in a coherent presentation. Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in more complex situations.|
